Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) is caused by Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides (Mmm) and is still endemic in sub-Saharan Africa, where it causes important economic losses.

The present article by Di Teodoro et al. provides the state of the art about Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia – CBPP, a special emphasis having been placed upon the pathological features of the disease. High quality gross and microscopic pictures highlight all the most relevant clinic-pathological aspects of CBPP.
